St Joseph's Primary School is an integrated full Primary School situated in Charlotte Street in Dargaville. The school caters for New Entrants to Year Eight. It has a U4 status. The maximum roll of the school in 2008 is 130. The school is an integral part of the Sacred Heart Parish in Dargaville and endeavours to teach the whole curriculum through following the example of Christ. The curriculum is broad and balanced, meeting the needs of individual pupils through individual, small group or whole class teaching. It is the aim of the school to enable children to fulfil their potential in academic, spiritual sporting and cultural spheres. 

The school acknowledges the important role which is played by the local Maori community in the life of the school, and endeavours to create a working partnership between home, school and Parish.

All policies procedures and resources are reviewed on a regular basis in an effort to maintain high standards within the school, and to reflect the school's Catholic Special Character.
