Principal’s Message

Tena Koutou.  Welcome to St Joseph's School, Dargaville.

It is a privilege to have been appointed Acting Principal of St Joseph's School for 2006. The appointment is an opportunity to build on the great reputation and student successes that St Josephs is known for.

I hope you and your children find us a welcoming school and that we build strong relationships together.

At St Joseph's we pledge to provide a challenging educational environment with emphasis on a strong Catholic Character.  We pledge to fully develop each child’s potential, to enable them to meet the challenge of an ever-changing society.

We are a Josephite school which means our charism in one of caring, for justice, peace, freedom and equality for everyone.

At St Joseph's School we have always been well known for our music.  We have a talented band,  and our students sing exceptionally well.

At St Joseph's we have clear expectations for good behaviour which the staff positively reinforce.  Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own behaviour and to accept the consequences of the choices they make.

We are fortunate to have a high calibre staff of 5 teachers, 3 teacher aides, two part time teachers who have responsibility for Religious Education and reading recovery, an administration officer and a cleaner.  They are committed to doing the very best they can for the students and the school.

I hope you will become involved in the life of the school.   We always welcome parents on our trips and we welcome parent help in the classrooms.

Come along to our PTA meetings and find out other ways you can help as well.

My office is almost always open and you usually do not need an appointment to see me.
